Lahaul and Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana inaugurated newly constructed government primary school buildings in Demul and Dhankar villages along with a Rural Haat at Kaza in the Spiti valley of the district on Sunday. Local villagers, panchayat representatives, teachers and officials of various government departments were present on the occasion.

In Demul village, the MLA inaugurated a new building of Government Primary School. The building was formally opened for students, marking a significant step toward improving educational infrastructure in the remote region.

The MLA emphasised on the government’s commitment to strengthening educational facilities in rural and hard-to-reach areas. She expressed confidence that the new building would provide a more conducive learning environment for children. Villagers extended their gratitude to the MLA for ensuring the successful completion of the project. After the inaugural ceremony, she interacted with locals and instructed various department authorities to resolve their issues.

Later, in Dhankar village, the MLA inaugurated a new six-room primary school building built at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh. She said that enhancing educational opportunities in geographically-challenging regions was the priority of the state government. Villagers welcomed the new infrastructure and thanked the MLA for her efforts in fulfilling a long-pending requirement of the village.

In Kaza, Anuradha inaugurated a new Rural Haat built at a cost of Rs 24 lakh. The facility aims to provide a robust platform for local women self-help groups (SHGs) to display and sell their handmade products and raise their incomes.
