Lahaul-Spiti Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar held a virtual meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil to assess the security situation and ensure coordination across the region. The Lahaul-Spiti district shares its borders with Jammu and Kashmir through the Shinku La and Baralacha passes, making vigilance in these areas particularly critical.

“We have strengthened checking at all police barriers and check posts in the district,” said DC Rahul Kumar. He added that night patrolling had been intensified in key locations, including popular tourist spots, to prevent any untoward incident.

The administration has urged panchayat representatives, hotel and homestay owners and people to remain alert and report any suspicious individuals or activities immediately to the authorities.
