Land acquisition for Jathia Devi township in Shimla underway: Vikramaditya

He added that land was being acquired and Rs 1,300 crore would be spend on the project.
Vikramaditya, while addressing people during the Anokhi Dali Fair held at Jubbarhatti in Shimla district, said that fairs and festivals played a vital role in social interaction and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the state. “Himachal Pradesh has a treasure of rich local heritage, reflecting its traditions, art, and culture,” he added.
He said this ancient fair that was being celebrated with great enthusiasm since time immemorial. He added that fairs and festivals not only fostered social connections but also fulfilled the community and commercial aspirations of people. He assured the gathering that it would be declared a district-level fair.
The minister also assured people that the development of the Shimla (Rural) Assembly constituency would be ensured along with the rest of the state. He added that while the metalling of roads in Chanog gram panchayat had been completed, the metalling of roads in Jathia Devi and its surrounding areas was still pending. He assured people that all broken and damaged roads in Jubbarhatti and its nearby areas would be repaired before the next summer season.
Vikramaditya said that three major drinking water schemes were under execution in the area and once completed, the water shortage problem of the entire region would be resolved.
