Landslide disrupts traffic on Manali-Leh road

A landslide near Dhundi in Manali on Wednesday resulted in the closure of the Manali-Leh road.

The police halted the traffic at Solang Nala and Dhundi as the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is working to clear the road and restore traffic.

According to the police, significant road damage has been reported 2 kilometres ahead of the Dhundi Bridge.

All traffic is being rerouted through Rohtang Pass from the ATR North Portal. Drivers have been asked to exercise caution.

"Travellers intending to use the Manali-Leh route should stay informed and monitor local news for further information. The BRO is working to clear the road," the police said.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
