The Directorate of School Education yesterday dismissed Rakesh Kumar, a lecturer of physics, from service following allegations of sexual misconduct involving girl students during his tenure at Govt Girls Senior Secondary School at Paonta Sahib, Sirmaur. School Education Director Ashish Kohli issued an official order regarding this. He was accused of molesting students. He was booked under Section 354A of the IPC and Section 7 (later amended as Section 11) of the POCSO Act. He was arrested on May 9, 2023, and released on bail on June 3, 2023.
