In a virtual meeting, chaired by state president Ajay Negi, the association said teaching students of different age groups, such as Classes VI and XII, would be impractical due to varying psychological needs and expectations.

It further pointed out that lecturers already have responsibilities beyond teaching, including managing scholarships, board exam registrations, etc.

The lecturers further demanded if they were to teach all these, then only lecturers should be eligible for promotion to headmaster and principal positions.

The association has decided to meet with the Chief Minister, Education Minister and higher education officials to discuss their concerns and demands.
