Shimla, December 26

The capital town of Shimla and tourist suburbs of Kufri and Chharabra in Himachal Pradesh saw light snow on Sunday much to the delight of tourists.

Tourists in large numbers thronged the Ridge as Shimla receiced light snowfall.

The sky was overcast and strong icy winds blew, causing the temperature to fall during the day.

The Met office had predicted rain and thundershowers in the lower hills and rain and snow at many places in the mid- and higher hills on Sunday.

Snow is especially beneficial for apple orchards.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
