Literary organisation hosts storytelling session with famous author SR Harnot

Mumbai's prominent literary organisation, Swar Sangam Foundation, organised a storytelling session and discussion with renowned author and literary activist S R Harnot at the Mumbai Virungala Kendra Sabha Ghar today.

The event was graced by senior litterateurs Dhirendra Asthana, Hari Mridul and Kusum Tripathi, and attended by writers, journalists and theatre artists from across the city. The programme was coordinated by Rakesh Sharma, Raman Mishra and Hari Prasad Rai.

During the session, Harnot read his widely acclaimed story Bhaga Devi ka Chai Ghar captivating the audience. Dhirendra Asthana, who chaired the event, commended Harnot's storytelling, describing Bhaga Devi ka Chai Ghar as one of his finest works. He noted that while the story centres on a woman selling tea on a mountain, Harnot skilfully incorporates the complexities of a woman's mind, reflecting contemporary realities.

Hari Mridulhighlighted how Harnot effectively captures the struggles of women and the environment, making his work especially relevant today. Kusum Tripathi, a well-known social worker spoke on the exploitation of women and the environment by multinational companies.
