HEAPS of garbage and stained walls can be seen right along the Ridge in Shimla. People have been dumping garbage on a narrow stretch, and the walls are full of tobacco stains. The MC should remove the garbage as soon as possible and penalise the people littering the place. Such lack of cleanliness along the Ridge hampers the beauty of the city and presents an unpleasant message to the tourists visiting Shimla. Rajni, Shimla

No interstate bus service at Nerwa

THERE is no direct interstate bus service from Nerwa due to which commuters here have to face inconvenience in travelling to Delhi, Haridwar and Chandigarh, among other places. Commuters have to keep changing buses to reach their destinations. The government is requested to start interstate bus services from Nerwa as well. Sunil, NERWA


Vulnerable trees posing threat

THE onset of monsoon has caused several incidents of vulnerable trees falling across the town, posing threat of fatal accidents. This has created an atmosphere of fear amongst residents and tourists.
