Locals and tourists set cash registers ringing on Day 1 of khadi festival, Rs 2.5L sales recorded
Shimla, February 24
Around 40 Khadi organisations, village industries and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) units from Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, participated in the state-level PMEGP and Khadi Village Industries Festival. The festival, organised by the Shimla-based state office of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, through the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, started at Padam Dev Complex here today.
The exhibition attracted a lot of tourists as well as residents due to which sales amounting to rupees 2.5 lakhs were registered on the very first day. This state level exhibition will continue till March 1.
