Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has slammed the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government for its recent decisions, saying it was giving shock after shock to the people of the state. Criticising the government for withdrawing the scheme of free water supply in the rural areas of the state, Thakur said the Congress had come to power by offering freebies to the people but was now intent on snatching away whatever facilities the people already had.

“After ending 125 units free power, the government has now withdrawn the scheme of providing free drinking water. Also, water rates in cities have been increased drastically,” said Thakur.

He alleged that the Congress government was making false promises in the upcoming Assembly elections in other states. “Congress leaders in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir are talking about providing government jobs, employment, and facilities like electricity and water and big schemes for women, farmers, elderly and sick people. Ironically, the same Congress is busy snatching away the facilities and services provided to the people by the previous government in Himachal,” said Thakur.
