On the orders of his Company Commander, Beas Dev had moved out of his bunker to assess the situation when a drone hit him on his leg. Despite grievous injury, he kept motivating and commanding his jawans. He was evacuated to the nearest military hospital where his badly mutilated leg had to be amputated. He hails from Bathu village of Haroli sub division.

Gurnam Singh, a resident of Kshetran village of Haroli sub division, is serving in the Sikh regiment of the Indian Army. He was also on duty near the LoC when a bomb exploded near him and he suffered multiple splinter injuries. His eyes are safe, said his father, adding that according to information received from the Army authorities, Gurnam is responding well to the treatment.

Agnihotri said Himachal Pradesh is a ‘Veer Bhoomi’ and the state’s youth have been serving the nation in the Armed and para military forces. Many of the brave hearts have received gallantry awards like Param Vir Chakra. He said the state government has promised full support to the family members of the two injured soldiers and hopes that they come home soon after treatment.
