Ludhiana man arrested with ‘chitta’ in Kangra

Acting on a tip-off, a special police team intercepted a scooter (HP40E-0657) and recovered the contraband from Paramjit Singh, alias Pamma (31), a resident of GTB Estate, Ludhiana, the SP added.
He was allegedly bringing the consignment from another state and was attempting to sell it when the police arrested him on the spot.
An FIR under Sections 21 and 25 of the NDPS Act has been registered against Paramjit Singh at the Kangra police station. The two-wheeler used in the offence has been seized by the cops.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Paramjit Singh was active in the illegal drug trade for a considerable period of time and was already on the police radar.
Further investigation was underway to trace his network and sources of supply, the SP added.
