A resident of Ludhiana, Punjab, has been arrested with 11.5 grams of chitta (heroin) in Theog sub-division of Shimla district.

The accused has been identified as Buta Singh (31), of New Shimlapuri, in Ludhiana.

Acting on a tip-off, the police team stopped a bus in which the accused was travelling near Theog bypass for checking. During inspection, cops seized chitta from the possession of the accused.

Theog Deputy Superintendent of Police Siddharth Sharma said a case under Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Drugs (NDPS) Act 1985 had been registered against the accused.
