Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and sought the construction of a national highway connecting Chamba to Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir and Leh.

He met the Prime Minister and discussed various issues related to the development of Himachal Pradesh. He urged the Prime Minister to approve a national highway linking Chamba –Tissa-Pangi-Kishtwar-Leh.

He said, “The Prime Minister has always considered Himachal his second home and has made all possible efforts for it. The Congress government is also getting money from the Centre but misusing it.”

He said that Rs 89 crore would be spent on clean water and sanitation in Himachal Pradesh, as per the recommendation of the 15th Finance Commission. “The state government has also received Rs 81 crore as the first installment of the tied grant for 2024-25. The state has already received an installment of Rs 58 crore under this head,” he added.
