Major General Ranjeet Singh to be promoted to Lt General

Hamirpur resident Major General Ranjeet Singh was approved for promotion to Lieutenant General in the Army in a communication conveyed to him by the government yesterday.
Maj Gen Ranjeet Singh, who assumed charge as Major General in January 2022, is a resident of the Hira Nagar area and son of late Lt Col Kishan Chand. His grandfather retired from the British Indian Army in 1932.
Maj Gen Ranjeet Singh was commissioned in the Army in December 1989. Besides his long service at strategic positions in the country, he has served as an attache of the Indian Army in Russia.
Maj Gen Ranjeet Singh attributed his success to the blessings of his parents and family members. He is expected to assume charge as Lieutenant General in June.
