The Chamba Janhit Sangathan has urged Kangra MP Kishan Kapoor to make public the current status of the Chamba cement plant, a railway line from Jassur (Nurpur), near Pathankot, to Chamba and Draman-Jot-Chamba-Pangi National Highway.

Sangathan convener Shadi Lal Sharma and president Kishore Baroo urged the MP to pay attention towards the development of the district.

They said during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, when Kishan Kapoor came to Chamba to woo to voters, activists of the sangathan had brought these issues to his notice. He had assured them that the issues would be taken up with the government on priority, as soon as he won the elections.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
