Forest Minister Rakesh Pathania has directed officials to make the entry of forest areas in revenue records so that the Forest Department could take appropriate action in case of encroachments.

He was presiding over a meeting of district-level public grievances redressal committee here today.

On the inclusion of Padhri Jot in Himachal, the minister said the Chamba administration should take up the issue forward by holding a joint meeting with the authorities concerned of the neighbouring state. Deputy Commissioner DC Rana said the district administration would take necessary steps in this direction in the coming days.

The Forest Minister directed SDMs to make a list of old and unused buildings in their respective areas. Such buildings could be demolished and renovated to be used for other purposes, he said.

Reacting to a complaint, Pathania instructed the management of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College (PJNGMC) to submit the details on the number of patients who had to get their diagnostic tests done from private laboratories.

Pathania said the medical college management should ensure that all necessary tests were done on the hospital premises

MLAs Vikram Jaryal, Pawan Nayar and Jia Lal Kapoor were present.
