Make Pangi a separate Assembly constituency in 2026 delimitation, says Pangwal Ekta Manch

Pangwal Ekta Manch, Pangi, has demanded that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu should make Pangi a separate Assembly constituency in the 2026 delimitation.

While addressing a press conference here today, Trilok Thakur, chairman, Pangwal Ekta Manch, said a delegation of the manch met CM Sukhu and raised various demands including construction of the Chehni Pass Tunnel project, appointment of an IAS Resident Commissioner in Pangi and to expedite the construction of the Pangi Bhawans in Kullu and Chamba.

Expressing gratitude to CM Sukhu for listening to their concerns in detail and issuing necessary instructions for action, Thakur said, “CM Sukhu has assured us that a request for a separate Legislative Assembly constituency for Pangi will be made once the Delimitation Commission is notified.”

He said, “The CM also assured that discussions will be held with the Central Government regarding the construction of the Chehni Pass Tunnel project. The CM also said orders for the posting of an IAS officer as Resident Commissioner in Pangi and instructions to commence the construction of Pangi Bhawans in Kullu and Chamba have been issued.”

Thakur further said that the CM inquired about the electricity supply in Pangi Valley, where it was reported that 700 kV of power was being supplied against the required 1,400 kV. The CM also announced that he would be staying overnight in Pangi in April and lay the foundation stone of a 2 MW solar panel battery storage project.
