A man was arrested for allegedly attacking his friend with a sharp object following an altercation here, police said on Wednesday.

Officials said the accused, who works in a barber shop near Loreto Convent School, attacked his friend after an argument broke out between them.

The victim sustained injuries and was rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) where he is undergoing treatment.

Shimla SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said further investigation is under way in the matter.
