In a heart-wrenching incident, 48-year-old Aman Singh drowned while saving his daughter during a sudden flashflood in the Aanj-Bhoj region of Sirmaur district.

As the water began to rise alarmingly in the local stream of Retwa village, Aman Singh and his daughter were attempting to protect their cowshed. Suddenly, a fierce surge of water rushed towards them and Aman Singh pushed his daughter to safety, but he was caught in the flood’s powerful current.

This morning, Aman Singh’s body was recovered nearly 6 km from the banks of the Tons. Following reports of a cloud burst-like situation in Retwa village, SDM of Paonta Sahib Gunjit Singh Cheema and other officials rushed to the scene.
