Man succumbs to burn injuries
A Kunihar resident, Amit Singh, succumbed to his burn injuries at PGI Chandigarh on February 19. Singh had attempted suicide by setting himself ablaze on February 14. According to Solan SP Gaurav Singh, Amit's wife, Deepti, had lodged a complaint at Kunihar police station, stating that her husband had abused her after drinking alcohol and left the house, threatening to kill himself. Amit was found undergoing treatment for burn injuries at the civil hospital in Kunihar. He was later referred to IGMC Shimla and then to PGI Chandigarh, where he died. The probe revealed that Amit was addicted to alcohol, which led to depression. The police found no foul play in the incident.
