Manali-Leh highway shut for traffic after landslides

The district police of Leh and Lahaul and Spiti have issued an urgent traffic advisory, urging commuters to avoid the route.
A major blockage has occurred at Thorang Nala. Flash flood occurred at Pagal Nala and Teling Nala area, hampering traffic movement in the region. The authorities confirmed that vehicular movement has been halted and eight to 10 trucks are reportedly stranded at various locations in Thorang Nala.
Meanwhile, light motor vehicles (LMVs) are being diverted via a narrow village road connecting NH-03 near Eco Camp (Gondhla).

Deputy Commissioner and chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority Lahaul and Spiti, Kiran Bhadana, has issued a public advisory based on the latest weather forecast which predicts heavy rainfall, snowfall and the possibility of landslides in the coming days.
She cautioned that hilly roads, especially in rural and high-altitude regions, have become extremely slippery and accident-prone. Citizens are strongly advised to avoid non-essential travel, particularly at night.
