Ayurveda, Youth Service and Sports Minister Yadvinder Goma said yesterday that action would be taken the operators of this zipline in Manali as it is being operated illegally. “I have found out that as per norms, the operators had neither got registered with the Tourism Department nor got technical approval from the Mountaineering Institute of the Sports department, making the entire operation illegal,” he said.
“I have directed the officials to check all such illegal run sites to ensure that no operators carry out such activities without permissions. It is the Sports Department which gives technical approvals for carrying out adventure sports like paragliding and other sports,” he said. Though Tourism Department issues the licence, the technical approvals after spot inspections are given by the Sports Department.
