Mandi celebrates Hindu New Year with grandeur

The Hindu New Year was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion on Sunday at the historic Seri Manch in Mandi, in an event organised by the Dharm Sangh Shri Bhootnath Temple. The entire venue was adorned in white and saffron decorations, creating a festive and spiritual ambiance.

The celebrations began at 9 am with the installation of Lord Ganesha, followed by a Havan Yajna, led by senior vice-president Harish Vaidya. A large number of Mandi residents, including local leaders, community members, and dignitaries, actively participated in the religious ceremony.

Adding to the grandeur, students from Takshshila, DAV Arya Samaj, and Saraswati Vidya Mandir schools presented cultural performances, including traditional dances, dramas, and recitations. A unique Gita recital in the local Mandayali dialect was performed by women from the Khatri Sabha, adding a special touch to the event.
