Mandi IIT student falls from hill in Lahaul and Spiti, dies

Mihir Kumar Sinha, a student of IIT Mandi, lost his life after falling from a hill near Aliyas Lake, on Sunday.

The deceased was a native of Bihar.

The incident was reported by his friend Anshul, who was at Sissu with a group of fellow students.

Lahaul and Spiti SP Mayank Chaudhary said the rescue team covered the difficult terrain to retrieve the body.

"Eyewitness accounts indicate no foul play in the incident. Sinha's body was sent to Regional Hospital, Keylong. The post-mortem will be held on Tuesday,” the SP said.

The family has been sounded, he added.
