A shocking incident of domestic violence surfaced in Mandi district on Saturday when a man allegedly threw acid on his wife in their home in Sain Mohalla, Mandi Town. According to initial investigations, the accused, identified as Nand Lal, who runs a tea shop near the Zonal Hospital, Mandi, had been involved in prolonged domestic disputes with his wife.

Today evening, he reportedly returned home, entered his wife’s room, and during an argument, threw acid on her. The victim was taken to the Zonal Hospital, Mandi, where she received urgent medical care. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later referred to AIIMS, Bilaspur, for specialised treatment.

Mandi SP Sakshi Verma confirmed the report and said an FIR had been registered at the Sadar police station and the accused has been arrested by the police.
