Market yard to come up in Draman

Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania announced that a market yard would be built in Draman which will have about 50-60 shops. Shopkeepers affected and displaced due to the four-lane construction will be given priority in allocation of shops to be built under the yard. It will help rehabilitate the affected shopkeepers who can restart their lost business. Pathania was speaking as the chief guest at the Dasehra festival in Draman on Sunday.

He said that the state government was committed to the upliftment of every section of the society. He said that the ground of Draman would also be beautified and various demands put forth by the Ramlila committee would be fulfilled as soon as possible. Welcoming Pathania, Ramlila committee head Vikas Gupta said that he has been very helpful in running Draman’s Ramlila.

Pathania also felicitated the children and youths playing various characters in Ramlila. Like every year, this time also the Draman Dasehra festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The effigies of Ravan and Kumbhakarna were burnt on the next day of the Dasehra. On this occasion, the chief guest and the public also enjoyed Ramlila. Children also presented a cultural programme. Zila Parishad member Neena Thakur, DD Sharma, Pradhan of local Panchayat Aruna Devi, Deputy Pradhan Vinod, Ashwani Chaudhary, Devraj, Dr Vijay Sheel, Mahendra Singh, Ajay Babli, all the members of Ramlila Committee were present on the occasion.
