Martyr Lavi Kumar’s family erected a statue in his honour at Dev-Bharari in Luharpura gram panchayat. His mother Surekha Devi unveiled the statue at their native village yesterday in the presence of the Nurpur SDM and DSP. A rain shelter was also built by the family to honour the memory of their son.

Lavi was inducted into the Army in 2016 and served the 9th Dogra Regiment for six years. He underwent training in Faizabad, from where he was traveling to Delhi and met with an accident in October 2022, succumbing to his injuries. After receiving special commando training Lavi was conferred the Inspector Grade.

Havildar Arun and Havildar Pradeep from the regiment participated in the unveiling ceremony. They said Lavi was a brave soldier who had completed the commando training successfully.
