Mandi: Mass resignations in support of former minister Prakash Chaudhary

After former minister and Congress leader Prakash Chaudhary’s resignation from his post and party membership a few days ago, the office-bearers of Block Congress Committee Balh tendered their mass resignation in support of Prakash Chaudhary in Mandi district.

Prakash Chaudhary was president of District Congress Committee.

These block Congress committee office-bearers gathered at the residence of Prakash Chaudhary at Balh on Saturday. They said, “We collectively resigned from our posts after the state government and the Congress high command took the resignation letter given by former minister and Mandi District Congress Committee president Prakash Chaudhary lightly.”

District Congress Committee vice president Ajay Thakur and Balh Congress Committee president Kuldeep Thakur said, “We had given a two-day ultimatum to Congress state president Pratibha Singh and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to address the grievance of our leader Prakash Chaudhary, who has been ignored despite the Congress government in the state.”

“About two dozen officials have sent their signed resignation letters to state Congress committee president Pratibha Singh through e-mail. Among those who sent resignations from their posts to Pratibha Singh include president Balh Block Congress Committee Kuldeep Thakur, general secretary Mahender Gupta, District Congress Committee vice president Ajay Thakur, members Mohan Lal Thakur, Vinod Thakur, Pawan Thakur, Dinesh Nayak, Murari Sharma, Mohan Guleria, Inder Singh, Balraj Chaudhary, Naveen Rana, Tara Tungla, Lalit Thakur, Ashwini Walia, Maya Devi, Sher Singh, Mahender Singh, Ghanshyam, Sarwan Nayak, Lalit Thakur and Vinod Guleria.

Congress leader Prakash Chaudhary gave resignation from his post and party membership by alleging that the chairman of Mandi APMC Sanjeev Guleria, the close aide of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, was interfering in political matters in Balh Assembly constituency, the home constituency of Chaudhary. However, Guleria refuted the allegations of Chaudhary.
