A devastating fire gutted a three-storeyed traditional house with 14 rooms in Kandaran village, Deha sub-tehsil of Shimla district, resulting in an estimated loss of Rs 25 lakh. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The house, owned by Mast Ram Thakur, caught fire earlier today and rapidly engulfed the entire structure. All residents managed to escape safely, with no injuries reported. Neighbours, alerted by the rising flames, rushed to the spot and quickly informed the fire department.

Firefighters, along with local residents, worked together to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to district administration officials.

Authorities have assured that the affected family is being provided with immediate relief and support. The incident has shocked the local community, highlighting the need for better fire preparedness in traditional hillside settlements.
