The Lawrence School, Sanawar, secured third place in the prestigious Global Math Debate 2024, organised by the UNMATH School, Mumbai. Representing the school in the Alpha group were Aadya Banik, Amay Mahajan and Krishiv Kapoor, who delivered an impressive presentation on the topic “Mathematics in vacuum cleaner.” Their performance earned them a podium finish in the final international round held in March 2025.

Dubbed the “Maha-Kumbh of Maths,” the debate saw participation from over 50,000 students across 5,000 schools representing seven nations. The competition spanned eight months, beginning at the school level in August 2024 and culminating in the international finals. The contest featured two categories—Alpha and Beta groups—with 10 schools from different countries qualifying for the final round.

At the regional level in India, three teams from Sanawar were shortlisted for the national round—two in the Alpha category and one in the Beta category. From these, one Alpha team progressed to the international round and clinched the third position globally.
