The PM arrived at 8.30 am at the Kangra airport, along with his wife Kobita Ramdanee, amid tight security. He was accorded the ceremonial welcome by Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati and other officials at the Gaggal airport from where he proceeded to the Baglamukhi temple.

The entry of devotees in the temple was blocked. Though Pravind did not interact with the media, sources in the temple said he had come to perform ‘havana’. The sources said the wife of the PM had visited the temple four months back and prayed for his election to the post. Now that he had been elected, she had brought the PM along. Mahant Rajat Giri, chief trustee, presented a ‘chunni’ and photograph of Baglamukhi Devi as a mark of blessing to the visiting PM. The PM was to visit the Mahakal temple in Baijnath also.

Pravind had his breakfast at a hotel in Kachairio on the outskirts of the town and flew back to Delhi. — TNS/OC
