Meeting on PM Vishwakarma Yojana held
The District Implementation Committee meeting for the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner and Committee Chairman Rohit Rathour on Saturday.
During the meeting, it was reported that the first meeting of the DIC had granted theoretical approval to 521 candidates, and the second meeting had approved 8,850 applications. Following stage-2 approval by the committee, the names of 9,132 candidates have been forwarded for stage-3 recommendations. Out of these, 4,466 candidates from the Mandi district have already been approved by Stage-3.
Om Prakash Jaryal, the Member Secretary and Chief Manager of the District Industries Centre, presented the list of candidates categorised by trade for the committee’s approval. He noted that there are 16,000 applications pending in stage-2 on the portal. Among these, 14,240 candidates, comprising 12,965 tailors and 1,275 masons, will undergo re-verification process by panchayat pradhans and secretaries. Once verified, these applications will be forwarded to stage-3 after stage-2 approval by the DIC.
Committee chairman Rohit Rathour directed that the names of the 14,240 candidates from the two trades be sent to the Project Officer, DRDA, Mandi, for further action. He also granted theoretical approval to forward the names of the remaining 1,760 candidates from various trades to the State Monitoring Committee for Stage-3.
Rathour instructed that applications received from Panchayat Secretaries, following complete verification under the new procedure, should be reviewed and approved in the next committee meeting within the stipulated timeframe.
