Migrant youth dies by suicide in Dharamsala

A 25-year-old migrant worker allegedly died by suicide in his rented room at Badol in Dharamsala, local police officials said here today. He was identified as Shivam Gaur, a native of Pipri in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police, the incident was reported around 10 pm yesterday. A police team reached Gaur's rented accommodation and took his body into custody. The body was sent to the Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala, for a post-mortem examination.

A preliminary inquiry revealed that Gaur had been working in the area as a painter. He had reportedly become mentally disturbed following a breakup with his fiancée, which was believed to have led him to take the extreme step. He allegedly hanged himself with a piece of cloth from the ceiling fan of his rented room.
The police had initiated inquest proceedings into the incident.
