Thakur held a meeting with the officials of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) at Saraswati Sadan, Hatkoti, to discuss issues pertaining to the demands of the local people and review the ongoing works. “The roads in the area have not been tarred for years, resulting in inconvenience to the local residents. The repair work must be undertaken on time to ensure better road facilities for the general public,” he said. He instructed the Public Works Department officials to begin the tarring work on these three roads at the earliest.

He also directed officials concerned to complete all the formalities for handing over these roads to the department, besides the immediate release of the LADA amount.

Local people demanded that one per cent of the project’s generation income be spent on the development of the area where the project affected people reside. He ordered the project administration to promote beautification on the site and work for bio-fencing.

Thakur also directed to complete the pending works of Moksha Dham in Vishakelti and start the construction work of Astu Ghat on time. It will provide facilities to thousands of people of the area, he added.
