The work for the upgrade of the Nagrota Surian-Lanj link road in Kangra district, located in the Jawali Assembly constituency, has begun after a long wait. The project, spanning 8.5 km, is being undertaken at a cost of Rs 10 crore, sanctioned under the Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-3.

Jawali MLA and Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar officially inaugurated the project by performing bhoomi pujan. During the event, he highlighted that a total of Rs 76 crore would be allocated for the upgrade of nine 71 km roads in the region under the PMGSY-3. He added that the roads would be constructed using advanced Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) technology, which ensures high-quality construction. This method guarantees road durability for 10 years, with contractors being responsible for maintenance for five years after the roads were opened to public use, he said.
