Chairing a meeting of the Nichar Block Grievance Redressal Committee at Bhavnagar in Kinnaur, Negi reviewed pending works and sought updates on claims submitted under the Forest Rights Committee. He emphasised the need for timely inspections and warned against negligence in processing valid claims. “The state government is committed to providing land to the poor and landless, and continuous efforts are underway in this direction,” he said.
Negi also chaired the meeting of the Block Level Plan Development and 20-Point Programme Review Committee. He instructed officials to actively promote welfare schemes targeting the poor and underprivileged sections of society.
Focusing on women’s empowerment, Negi highlighted the need to train women in modern agricultural and horticultural techniques. He directed relevant departments to conduct regular training camps across Kinnaur to enhance women’s skills and provide them with economic opportunities.
The meeting also discussed scholarship schemes for children of unorganized sector workers through the State Workers Welfare Board and financial aid in cases of accidents or deaths. Other key issues included ensuring food grain supply to BPL families under the National Food Security Act-2013, rural women’s participation in environmental conservation, and the preservation of forest resources.
Negi ordered the swift completion of the Panchayat Ghar under construction in Nichar, maintaining adequate medicine stock in veterinary hospitals, resolving low-voltage and transformer issues, maintaining HT lines, and ensuring clean drinking water availability. The construction of an ambulance road in Rupi Gram Panchayat was also reviewed.
