Missing teacher’s body recovered from Giri river

The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Rupalal, a resident of Thakkar Gawana village under Dadahu tehsil. According to information, he was employed as a teacher at a private school in Chandni. After finishing duty, he was returning home to his village when the incident occurred. Yesterday around 5.30 pm, while attempting to cross the Giri river from Chandni towards Thakkar Gawana, he was swept away by the sudden surge of water. Locals reported seeing him last being carried downstream near the Shadyar area.
A search and rescue operation was launched immediately after receiving information by the administration under the supervision of Naib Tehsildar Kamarau, Om Prakash Thakur, with divers deployed near the Sataun bridge. Police and administration teams remained on the spot through the night, coordinating extensive search efforts.
This evening, the search team finally recovered Rupalal’s body near a private stone crusher, Shampur, in the Manpur Deora panchayat area of Paonta Sahib tehsil. The identification of the body has been confirmed by the authorities.
