MoC inked for India’s first integrated Rs 1,400 crore API, green hydrogen, ethanol facility

Integrated facility to offer employment to 1,000 youth
A Memorandum of Commitment (MoC) was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu between state government and M/s Spray Engineering Devices Limited, Chandigarh, to set up India's first integrated Manufacturing Facility of API, green hydrogen and 2G ethanol BBN in Solan district, Shimla, on Wednesday.

A Memorandum of Commitment (MoC) was signed on Wednesday to set up India’s first Rs 1,400 crore integrated manufacturing facility of API, green hydrogen and 2G ethanol BBN in Solan district.

The MoC was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu between the state government and M/s Spray Engineering Devices Limited, Chandigarh. The MoC was signed by Director Industries Dr Yunus on behalf of the state government and managing director Vivek Verma on behalf of the company.

This integrated facility would offer employment to 1,000 youth. Initially, the project would require 30 MW green hydrogen in the first phase and in the coming time it would have a requirement of 50 MW green hydrogen.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to make Himachal Pradesh a green energy state of the country by March 2026 and many initiatives have already been launched to meet the target. He said one MW Green Hydrogen plant is being set up in collaboration with Oil India Limited at Nalagarh in Solan district.

CM Sukhu directed the concerned company to complete the project within a period of one year.

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan and MLA Sanjay Awasthy were also present on the occasion.
