Addressing a party workshop at Sundernagar in Mandi, Bindal said the 2014 general elections proved to be a turning point in India’s history, bringing decisive leadership after a decade marred by scams and instability.
He accused the Congress-led UPA regime (2004–2014) of damaging India’s global image through corruption scandals like the 2G, CWG and coal scams. “From being the 11th largest economy, India has now emerged as the world’s fourth largest economy under Modi’s leadership,” he said, citing economic reforms and infrastructure expansion.
The BJP state president highlighted major government achievements over the past 11 years like expansion of national highways and 5G network, development of airports, addition of over one lakh medical college seats and establishment of new AIIMS, IIMs, IITs, and IIITs. In defence sector, he mentioned India’s shift from arms importer to exporter and cited surgical strikes as proof of country’s rising strategic strength.
Emphasising welfare schemes, he said 25 crore people were lifted out of poverty, 12 crore toilets were built, 4 crore houses provided and 80 crore citizens received free ration. Over 53 crore Jan Dhan accounts were opened and farmers received annual financial assistance.
Bindal also highlighted cultural and constitutional reforms, including Article 370 abrogation, Ram Temple construction, triple talaq ban and 33% reservation for women in Parliament.
Criticising Congress, he said, “Those invoking the Constitution today are the same who imposed Emergency and amended it 88 times for power.”
