Sandeep Sankhyan, spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for misleading the nation about economic progress. Speaking in Bilaspur, Sankhyan said the PM’s promise to elevate India’s economy to $5 trillion, made from the Red Fort, remains unfulfilled, with the economy stuck at $3.8 trillion.

Sankhyan accused the BJP-led central government of deceiving the public with hollow promises and failing to deliver on flagship schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Mudra Scheme, Startup India, and Make in India. He claimed these initiatives had done little for the unemployed and marginalized, leaving the youth and small businesses frustrated.

He further highlighted rising unemployment, stating it had reached a ten-year high. Additionally, Sankhyan criticised the imposition of taxes on small and medium businesses, which he said had crippled the business community. He accused the government of burdening the public with debt and failing to control inflation.
