More than 100 farmers of areas under the jurisdiction of the Pujarli panchayat in Shimla district were apprised about potato farming during a one-day training-cum-input distribution programme organised by ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla, under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) programme.

CPRI, Shimla, Director (Acting) Jagdev Sharma, Division of Plant Protection Head Sanjeev Sharma, Division of Social Sciences Head Alok Kumar, Division of Social Sciences scientist Pynbianglang and ICAR-CPRI Administrative Officer Joginder Singh Thakur addressed the farmers and briefed them about CPRI and the research undertaken by the institute. The dignitaries also answered queries raised by the farmers.

Farm equipment and items were also distributed to the farmers to support them.

The programme was organised in collaboration with Pujarli Panchayat Pradhan Meena Kashyap.
