Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said today that works worth Rs 23 crore had been completed under the Shimla Smart City Mission. “Besides, projects worth Rs 209 crore were under construction while tenders for projects worth Rs 62 crore have been floated,” said Bhardwaj.

He assured people that most projects will be completed by the end of this year. He directed the officials to ensure speedy implementation and coordination between different departments involved. The minister directed the officials to ensure speedy clearances from the Forest Department wherever required. Bhardwaj hoped that the parking complex near the IGMC, smart path from Sanjauli to the IGMC and elevators and a foot over-bridge at Lakkar Bazaar and Vikas Nagar would be ready by the year end, while other projects like Book Caffe and widening of roads would be done by June. — TNS
