A district-level workshop to strengthen Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) was held in Una on Monday by the Industries Department. The workshop, which focused on three main schemes, was attended by existing and promising entrepreneurs.

Elaborating on the new initiatives of the department, General Manager of the District Industries Centre, Rachit Sharma, said focus was now on developing industrial units as a cluster to benefit similar units having a common facility centre (CFC), to be funded by the Union and state governments.

Besides, the GM said impetus is also on green initiatives in industries to reduce carbon foot prints besides use of renewable sources of energy and use of modern technology to eliminate solid, liquid and air pollution.

Presentations were made on new schemes like “Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance” to promote and strengthen micro and small industrialists.
