Multipurpose complex to be constructed in Sihunta soon

Reiterating his commitment to the holistic development of Bhattiyatpeaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has announced construction of a multipurpose commercial complex in Sihunta in Bhattiyat Assembly Segment will begin soon with an estimated expenditure of Rs 1 crore.

The necessary departmental formalities for the project have been completed. Addressing a gathering at a wrestling competition held in Sihunta, Pathania highlighted the significance of such events in preserving local culture. He lauded the event for promoting social harmony and entertainment and announced Rs 1 lakh from his discretionary fund for the successful conduct of the fair. He also assured the Mela Committee of support for the paving and beautification of the Mela ground.

Elaborating about various developmental projects underway in the area, Pathania said a Rs 32 crore sewage management project was being implemented by the Jal Shakti Department for Sihunta and nearby areas.

Pathania said Bhatiyat is being developed as a hub for religious and adventure tourism. He noted that road connectivity is being expanded under a special action plan to unlock this potential. He reaffirmed that by 2027, the goal is to ensure road access to every village in the Bhattiyat constituency.

The Speaker emphasised that with the continuous improvement of drinking water supply, electricity and healthcare services, particularly in rural areas, there is now a visible trend of people returning to villages.

He added that Bhattiyat, with its abundant natural resources and favourable climate, has all the attributes to evolve into a prime destination for trekking and eco-tourism. He expressed confidence that the region would soon establish its identity in track tourism.

Furthemore, Pathania announced that work on the proposed multi-sport stadium in Chowari will commence soon to provide better sports infrastructure for the youth. Pathania said infrastructure, tourism and youth welfare will remain central to future initiatives.
