Solan ASP Rajkumar Chandel confirmed that Sher Mohammad was presented before an Arki court and remanded in police custody. The raid, conducted last evening, led to the seizure of over 6 gram of heroin, 1.137 kg of poppy husk, 14 unlicensed bullets, 10 mobile phones and Rs 39,000 in cash. Charges under the Arms Act and the NDPS Act have been filed, and his criminal history is under review.

The arrest highlights the ongoing issue of illegal arms in the Nalagarh industrial belt, where several cases have surfaced over the past year. Chandel detailed the operation, explaining how a Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Solan district police, acting on a tip-off, intercepted a car (HP-64C-1635) at a naka in Muqaam Ladhi on January 4. The vehicle’s occupants, Akshay Kumar (28) of Tukadi village, Kunihar, and Bhawani Singh (25) of Badog village, Arki, were caught with 9.20 gram of heroin.

The duo, with prior NDPS Act cases against them, were arrested and remanded to six days of police custody on January 5. During interrogation, they confessed to buying the contraband from Sher Mohammad, alias Shera Chacha, for Rs. 30,000. Police investigations continue to unravel the backward linkages of the drug peddling network.
