Nalagarh school secures 26 medals in CBSE Cluster games

Athletes win 13 gold, eight silver and five bronze medals

Doon Valley Public School, Nalagarh, secured the second position by winning 26 medals at the CBSE Cluster-16 games held in Sirsa, Haryana, recently.

Principal Devendra Mahal said the competitions witnessed participation from over 600 athletes representing 60 schools from Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Doon Valley’s athletes brought pride to the school by winning 13 gold, eight silver, and five bronze medals.

In the girls’ category, Ishroop Saini bagged three gold medals in long jump, 100m race, and the 4x400m relay race. Riddhi Kaushal won gold in high jump and 4x400m relay, along with a silver medal in the 400m race. Anushka won gold in 4x400m relay and a bronze in the 200m race, while Arunima won gold in 4x400m relay and bronze in the 3,000m race. Radhika Sharma also contributed to the school’s gold medal tally in the 4x400m relay.

In the boys’ U-19 category, Umardeen, Nitin Kaushal, Abdul Razak, Vinay, and Gurleen secured gold in 4x400m relay. Aditya Thakur and Nitin Kaushal won silver in the triple jump, Aditya Gupta earned silver in shot put and Umardeen, Nitin Kaushal, and Akash won bronze in 800m, 200m, and 200m races, respectively.

In the boys’ U-14 category, Apar Singh, Akarsh, Aniket, and Tushar secured silver medals.

Twelve gold medallists have been selected to represent the school at the national competition to be held in Varanasi. The school administration congratulated the winning athletes and the school sports department, praising their dedication and hard work in achieving this remarkable feat.
