Natasha crowned Miss Himachal

Natasha Guleria of Nurpur grabbed the coveted Miss Himachal crown in the three-day contest that concluded here last night.

Nine girls out of the 85 participants were selected for the grand finale. Babita Kaushal of Hamirpur was first runner-up and Priya bagged the second runner-up position. Natasha said her victory was a big surprise and came with responsibilities. She said the event helped her in exploring the real strengths in her.

She said ‘night in the jungle’ during the event was an unforgettable experience. “We learnt to defeat our fears and take challenges in life while sleeping in tents in the forest,” she said. She said girls should come forward to take challenges instead of making excuses.

Shiva Khan, event director, said the event had various activities for contestants, including rope and spider net climbing, cleanliness drive, jogging sessions and rafting in a dense forest along the Beas.
