Saini stated a wide range of cases — both civil and criminal — can be brought before the Lok Adalat for amicable resolution. These include cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, money recovery matters, labour disputes and problems relating to electricity and water bills, as well as maintenance claims and other compoundable disputes.
He said pending court cases eligible for settlement include cheque bounce cases under Section 138 of the NI Act, recovery suits, motor accident claims, labour disputes, electricity and water bill issues, matrimonial disputes (excluding divorce), land acquisition cases, service-related disputes such as those concerning salaries, allowances and retirement benefits, revenue matters pending in district or high courts, and civil suits relating to rent, easement rights, injunctions and specific performance.
Saini urged individuals wishing to settle their disputes through the Lok Adalat to approach the Judicial Court Complex in Rampur Bushahr, the Judicial Court Complex in Reckong Peo (Kinnaur district), the Judicial Court Complex in Ani (Kullu district) or the DLSA office in Reckong Peo.
